can someone look at my most recent game and tell me what i did wrong?

it seems as though the sim engine favors people playing a full court press

his best inside threat was the center, my center has a DEF rating of 99. i wanted to take away the perimeter as his three leading scorers were shooting 40%+ from behind the arc.

Your biggest problem is that the previous coach you with too tough of an OOC schedule. But I see that you did exactly the opposite for next season by scheduling all sims.

First ten minutes you played them nearly even, so I'm guessing fatigue/stamina issues. I would set it to fairly fresh and utilize your players more, it would appear you have a pretty balanced roster.

Kill your PG's distro set it to 0 or 1 at -2. That's what SG's are for. Your PG needs to be an assist guy.

You also played a better team obviously.

I think the +4 did work, but your team just didn't shoot the ball very well.

I'm also not a big fan of giving my PF much in the way of distribution, I usually let him do the rebounding and have him create his own scoring opportunities off offensive rebounds. Every coach is different however.

The only 2 players on your team I would set to getting tired are Gammage and Henderson everybody else should be set to fairly fresh, they aren't good enough to play fatigued while your backups aren't much worse at the other positions. Also despite the very low WE I would start Esposito he's better than Novak, and he can actually give you some much needed scoring because of his BH.

is everyone anti the +4

The +4 was totally unnecessary. He only has two 3-point shooters to worry about and one of them is a backup. I probably would have played them as a -1. You also could have played a 3-2 if the 3-point shooting worried you.

To play a +4, all of their scorers need to be 3 point shooters and they need to put up 25 a game. You lose too much rebounding and inside defense by going that high.

As the above. THey only shot 10 threes anyway, the amount of gain from lessening that isn't worth the rebound loss.

Agree with all this. The thing to look at isn't really the per rating or 3pt %, at least not alone. Look at their stat totals in conjunction with avgs. Those 3 guys do have good %, however as a team only about 29% of their FG att come from 3's. The only reason to ever go with an extreme + like that is like west coast said if they're jacking up a lot of them although I use something like 40+% of the total FG atts as opposed to a certain number. Also, if it were me, I would have set it to adjust at the half if losing. I realize most of the vets that I have seen comment on this are against it, but if you are trying a def setting that you aren't quite sure about, give yourself that buffer.
