Roscoe at 2B and leading off would really solidify my infield D and I wouldn't have to wory about him wearing out. But would he produce at the plate?

Alex Morales would improve my outfield D and he is who I thought would be the better leadoff hitter. But, he has no power and awful makeup. And, this move would probably put Roscoe as a backup.

Miguel Tavarez is who the AI thinks (show rec) should be my leadoff hitter. this option puts my worst D on the field as Miguel can only play RF, and it kicks the other two off the field. He's the best basestealer I have. . .

I'd leadoff Chang.

Chang? Really? Why you do you think that? He has been my cleanup hitter the past three seasons... and was second in voting for MVP last season...
1/23/2010 11:05 PM
he says Chang because these are all horrible options...

you want someone who is gonna get on base, without that basestealing doesn't matter

I guess I'm clueless about leadoff hitting... In general what ratings should I look for?

Contact and eye.

Between those three, I'd go with Tavarez.

I would go with the guy who has the better career on base percentage

Baseball Prospectus claims that the optimal lineup is one where the highest OBP is at the top of the order and the rest of the hitters are placed in descending order of OBP. So take that for what it's worth.

Thanks, for the feedback!

None of those guys are very good leadoff options. OBP is the only thing that matters up top; speed is basically a tie-breaker for me.

What is a good OBP? So called real life "baseball experts" say a leadoff hitter needs a OBP of .360 or higher...

Hail Hail PeteC!!

I'd go with Morales. But I agree, none of the three are great choices.
