Offensive Rebounding Topic

I would love to hear some thoughts on offensive rebounding. My team this year just finished with a first round NT loss. We went out with a wimper. I am convinced that a great deal of my losses this year came from poor rebounding. However, when I look at my team I don't understand why. How is it that others teams seemed to dominate me on the offensive glass. If you get a chance look at my team and check out the conference tourney loss to Francis Marion. They had 13 offensive rebounds, I had one. Correct me if I am wrong but rebounding is based on athleticism, IQ and rebounding. With that said, on my team, Zadow and Pabon should be more than serviceable and Jury off the bench should have been a decent back-up. What happened this year? Would love to hear your input.

In my experience, Offensive rebounding has more to do with speed: Even on your team, look at your leading Offensive Rebounder: Pabon, who is also your highest post speed.

Interesting. I haven't heard that speed plays a role in offensive rebounding.

Well, just in my experience my leading offensive rebounder in the post is almsot invariably also the one I have with the highest speed, unless the difference in rebound rating is just huge.

I just went back through and checked some stats and there is definitely a common theme in speed. Do you recruit speed in low post players?

When I can get it? Definitely. Athleticism is more important, but if you can have speed as well, you're golden.
