When I promise a start, does the kid have to start every game? I just realized that when I reshuffled my lineup a bit on one of my teams, I accidentally moved a promised start to the 2nd slot - its been 2 games. If I put him back at starter will he be ok?

90% seems to be the magic number

And does that 90% apply to his entire career, or just the given year?

First season onl
To expand on what Weena is saying, promises are only for the players 1st season with your team.

That said a player can still complain or lose work ethic because you did break a promise to him, I wouldn't expect it but it could happen.

well, after learning this info, I sat a different kid for 2 games against top 25 opponents, and now he is ******** and his WE dropped. If he starts the rest of the season will it come back?

Maybe.

Rule of thumb - If you promise a start, start him every game.

They randomly check if a player is happy/unhappy. It can change over the course of the season to happy/unhappy. If you miss 1 start and then it checks he can complain that easy. You could go like 4 games w/o living up to it, and then start him 4 more. There is a chance he will still complain if he held a grudge, but he may not. The safe bet is just to start him. If you start him the rest of the season he will send you a "thanks" Email and his WE will jump back, but he won't gain the WE he would have if you just lived up to it and not ****** him off to begin with.

he's back starting (I was planning on putting him back anyway), we did win the 2 games vs. top 25s with him coming off bench, so I guess its worth it...
