Anyone "reverse engineered" the factors for going early? What is important, ppg, team record, team tourney run? What else? HELP!

It was supposed to have been changed to be based upon ratings and not necessarily individual performance as many teams can hold back players or they have the depth where they don't need to lean on a superstar.

However, the deeper that your team advances in the tourney, the more likely you will lose players to the draft.

Of course, there can be exceptions where u get knocked out in the first round and still lose several players and sometimes you can make it to the Final 4 and have a stud come back.

I don't think there is a hard rule, but it is more likely that you will lose players if you have a deep NT run.

I agree. NT success is the key element. Following that, it seems to be based on skill ratings and not individual stats. There have been plenty of EE players recently with under 5 PPG and some even under 5 MPG.

A solid thread for your reading about EE's.

Don't know zhawks. In Allen, Virginia won the NT and has 12 guys coming back. There is some talent there (obviously) and none of them went ee despite winning the NT.

I think EEs are among the worst features of HD

IMO the #1 factor is a players ratings. If the players is close to maxed out in the cores and you are at a Big 6 program I believe this is the first factor and all other factors are simply things that make the player more or less likely to leave. I used to think making the post season was the #1 factor but no longer believe this after seeing too many FF and NCs not lose players and seeing other teams (from Big 6) that dont even make the PI lose guys (My Phelan Wisconsin team this past season is the most recent example.)

Ratings will determine whether the guy even considers going, then these factors are more or less likely:

1) Post-Season success (individual) - If your'e guys is maxed out and was All-American 1st through 3rd team Very high chance he leaves - Conference awards aside from POY dont seem to carry as much weight;

2) Post-season success (team);

3) Evaluations during recruiting (Were you told the players wasnt likely to hang around or did you never receive such emails);

4) PT

I don't think anything else really plays into the decision.

Also, just to be clear...by maxing out...I dont mean maxing out potential...I'm talking maxing out the specific core ratings...
