Can someone explain how this guy is a 79...

Because of these ratings.

Dur/Health are the only one of those ratings that would effect his OR in any way majorly... Temper and Patience wouldn't...



The reason he isn't higher rated is his RH split is 37 and he's only a C - C+ Contact/Power/Eye ... His OR is sorta inflated IMO due to his higher Health and Dur. Doesn't hurt he has 89 speed.

I wasnt expecting him to be higher rated, I kind of expected him to be lower rated actually. None of his offensive ratings are above 79, his glove is horrible, just generally a overly deceiving overall rating IMO.

You will get to the point where you don't even notice OR when evaluating a player.

It is almost always skewed somehow.

My team has the second lowest overall rating in the all of the big leagues and I have the second best record in the AL right now if that gives you any idea of how little it really means.

OR don't matter... What is bringing up his OR is the Dur/Health and the fact he doesn't completely suck Cont/Power/Eye/LH/BR/Bunt/Speed I mean those ratings aren't so low that it would make him be rated much lower... I had a similar guy rated OR like 92 with much higher cont/eye/Power/LH but his RH split is like 25.. Being that he was fast and had good dur/health along with the other ratings is what kept him at a higher OR.

I realize OR doesnt matter.. I dont pay attention to it much. I just got to looking at this guy closer and was wondering how it became so high.

There was more to my post then OR doesn't matter.. lol I tried to explain the reason he would be rated that high as opposed to being rated lower.

OR is only a good number to use when making trades to owners who still do not believe it doesn't matter too much.

Or determining type a or type b.

No he doesn't completely suck, but with a vR that low will he ever have more value then a platoon guy who plays against ies? I'm guessing no.. Regardless he's on my squad now as a way to dump a horrible 10m contract to a mopup guy I inherited.. Let's hope for a type a/b designation an a owner willing to sign him to an overpriced contract..

Only his vR & Glove are bad. The rest of his ratings are better than average. Looks like more of a LF/1B to me. Durable with good speed, BR, H, & makeup make him pretty valuable. If his vL/R were reversed he'd be a star. As it is he's more of a platoon vLHP and PR.

if his RH split was higher he would be more valuable being that the RH split is probably more important than the LH split.
