What are the odds of stealing a pulldown? Topic

So this question is only for those who believe pulldowns exist first of all.

Say you get the backup message from a player at a school with an A- prestige so the chances of him dropping to you are pretty good, but then see that an A+ prestige school seemingly pulled him down.

If you had advantadges that you knew would help you in a battle with a school with better prestige, would it be possible to also pull the player down into a battle or once pulled down are they probably just going to the school that pulled them.

I ask because I was hoping the guy would eventually drop to me as well but he seems not likely to. He was my #1 wanted recruit in my range so I would try to battle if I had to, I just dont want to start sending non rejectable recruiting measures if it would be impossible to be a 2nd pull down school.

I assume this question is vague enough to not cause any problems but I am interested to see if anyone has ever tried to be a 2nd team to pull someone down when they are not on your list yet.

Pulldowns existed. That's not a contest fact. Also, the A+ may not have pulled him - he may have already dropped to the A+.

And I believe that yes, you CAN pull him. I've done it.

I know they exist, it just seems everytime someone makes a post about a pulldown that someone else comes and says they don't exist.

I've never been able to snatch a recruit away from a better prestige school once the player is considering that school

I mean you can pull him down also, but if you don't have a distance advantage it will be pointless because you will have to outspend him by a decent amount. This past recruiting season I was the 2nd to pull down the 136th PF and I ended up winning the battle. I had a slight prestige edge A+/A and was at a minimal distance disadvantage 160/100.

With only 3 open spots it is going to be tough to beat him. However, if he only has 1 or 2 open spots and you have the distance advantage go for it.

My second season at stonehill I had a B or B- prestige with six open spots and was able to beat out an A+ prestige for the recruit that I loved. He helped me build stonehill into a D2 powerhouse, so if you think that this recruit will do that for you, you should try to land him.

its definitely possible to pull a guy down after somebody else does. even if they are a division above you.

I decided all the money it would take just to get him to consider me before even entering the battle would be a bad move. Thanks for all the advice though
