This may seem like a dumb question, but what's the best way to find out a recruit's potential? I'm used to Gridiron recruiting where I just look for 'A lot of room to grow' or 'Incredible Upside'. Do I have to AC scout multiple times to get a full report, or should I rely mostly on their WE rating?

The best way is to purchase the FSS report for the state he is in. The FSS report gives you the potential for all ratings.

If you can't afford FSS for the state, you can do scouting reports, which will give you the potential for 3-5 ratings each.

WE has nothing to do with potential in HD. Each rating has a hard cap (potential), the WE only affects how quickly they reach that cap (along with practice minutes and playing time).

as an aside, I hate the fact that a scouting trip only gives potential to 3-5 ratings. You pay more than you would for FSS in most cases yet gives less info. seems dumb to me. I would actually hope it provides more information.

It does to some degree: It will tell you more specifically things like high high and low high. . .

It would be better if it gave that for all categories, given the costs.

but the scouting trip is also giving you recruiting credit - its really more about recruiting than it is evaluating, FSS does not help in getting a recruit to consider you

Everyone has different paths to recruiting success, technically both answers "could" be correct.

i would say its really more about evaluating than recruiting, when it comes to evals. at any level, when i send an eval, you can bet your *** i value the information i get back a hell of a lot more than the considering credit. i think anybody who feels differently is spending their money unwisely, and would be better off with something other than evals.

Not when recruiting someone who has you as a backup on their list
Billy_G hasn't been a backup for anybody since the 1st month he started playing this game, lol.
