Ok, I have sent 2 two phone calls to a recruit and he has answered with a "back-up" message. It is now 8:10 eastern time on the final day and he has not fallen to me yet. At this point we have the 11:00pm cycle and recruiting ends a hour later (11:59). Will the guy actually fall at 11:00pm a hour before recruiting ends? If I send a bunch of home visits etc now and he does fall at 11:01 will I get credit for the recruiting attempts? Will the scholarship and visits work? Crazy..

I don't live in the US and i don't want to stay up 3 more hours to wait and see if he falls and recruit him. Any wisdom or experience on if there are occasions when the back-up message isn't actually correct? Should i throw the money at him now or try to go find some other recruit that I don't really want. (I have two open scholarships so I don't want the penalty.)

Yeah, he never fell. Stinks when you wait and wait and wait and then he never falls and you lose out on other recruits you would have taken in place of him. I know you can try to pull recruits down but it costs a lot of money and is not always a simple process. Not sure why WIS would even allow the program to send a back-up message if it is not true. Kind of frustrating.

I think it is a probabalistic thing - the backup message should be read to mean that he COULD fall - not that he will

I think it also depends on what other attention the recruit got, even if it did not result in him considering anybody.

Probably right with those thoughts. What is amazing is that at 5:00am on the final day of recruiting he was the first (sorting by ascending) person on the list of recruits to fall. In other words he had the lowest rating of players that had not fallen. I figured at least in a cycle or two he would drop. But 6 cycles later people around him at dropped but not him. Including a player with a higher star rating... Explain that. Is there is specific time that players stop dropping or will they drop even on the final cycle. Anyone know?

One of these others guys can quote you the exact cycle but it's something like three or four before the end I believe.

The right way to deal with this is to not wait - just pull him down. Then you can get anyone that gives you the backup e-mail.
