Lost my back up pg to injury tonight and he'll be out till some point in the conference tournament. Here are my options:

Play my back up sg at pg too. His O/D iq is B+/C+. Ath/Spd 52/83, D 87, BH/P 80/78, Per 83 . He is not a good ft shooter. Good rebounder for a guard (34).

Play 3rd string pg. His O/D iq is C+/C+. Ath/Spd 51/84, D 52, BH/P 91/88, Per 61. He is a better ft shooter.

We play a fcp defense and motion offense. I'm losing spd/ath either way. My concern with the pg is obviously his D. My concern with the sg is BH/P. Both will have to play some and my thought is to slide the sg over to play both sg/pg in the back up role and limit the time the pg with lower D is on the floor. Playing press, does the low D have as great an effect? Is the sg's bh/p adequate in a back up role? Thoughts?

Spain Vs. Schwizer

Spain is easily the better def. choice. He also gives you an advantage on the boards from the PG spot and will knock down the open jumper, which is important when running the motion. Ad in the fact that, even though his bh/p ratings aren't as good, he's a Jr. and has a better IQ (which I'm sure is why his Asst/TO ratio is better!) it becomes a no brainer. I would start Spain at PG with Schwizer as my back up, split their time 60/40 so Spain can slide over for a few minutes each game and maybe give Rife a few extra minutes at SG. I realize Rife would be limited at SG but he can hit the open shot and has range. The truth is, regardless what you do, Gaudreau is going to be tough to replace!

Just need to fill the back up role till Rash is healthy. Not looking to replace Gaudreau. Need 15-16 minutes. I was thinking Spain could back up both Gaudreau and Whilhoite and Schwizer could come in to give him a rest for a few minutes at the point. Don't think Rife has ball skills to play 10 minutes at sg in the ACC. By the way, Spain is a first year junior, and Schwizer a 1st year soph due to academics.
