This might be a dumb question, but what does "Play Dist." mean on the player game plan tab?

what % of plays you want run for that player. (well its % if you have them sum to 100 like I do).

Exactly right. Think of it in terms of which players you want to give the most opportunities to shoot. It is not direct number of shots because fouls and turnovers are counted as opportunities also. Generally, the rule is to give your best shooters the most distribution and taper it down from there.

Also factor in their passing, since that plays into how they handle their possessions.

Remember that just because you have one player set to 10 and another to 5 it does not mean that the 10 will get twice as many shots as the 5.
