In my opinion, ath helps in a few categories. Between our players the stats are very similar. In one of them it seems though that your player had more TO's per game. At first glance I would say that ath has something to do with that because ath is supposed to help against a fullcourt press. A factor in this would also be the player distro and I don't know what Rigsby had. But I know that Kato had a high player distro, which was needed for his ppg. Also, Kato has higher rebounding per game too which could have been helped by his ath. But once again I don't know Rigsby's or Kato's rebounding ratings. Now for your example, I probably would take the 25 ath 79 sp guy over the other but I would play him at point only unless I had no choice. I would still look for ath in my sg. Hard to do at DIII though.

when you say "i still think ath helps though", it makes it sound like somebody suggested otherwise. i don't think there is any question there, really. i think pretty much everybody agrees both are significant.

i really think 25 ath is perfectly acceptable in d3 for a sg. honestly, i think it is perfectly acceptable for d2 all the way up to the national champions. i guess i have a press bias, maybe that is not true in man or zone, but it is certainly not because of the 3 point shooting!

I guess what I mean to say is that ath makes a difference to me. In DIII it is harder to get the type of player I would like and have to concede most of the time, but in DII ath is a must except for your PG. Just my opinion.

By the way I am not sure what you mean in that last sentence.
