Yes, I have to agree that you always run a risk giving 0 SH minutes to anyone.....HOWEVER, let's be clear, it's a really a low risk.......between this ID and my maddyjack ID, I've played well over 100 seasons of HD, and can count on one hand the number of players I've had go ineligible.....and 90% of the time, ALL of my non-freshmen have 0 SH minutes. Again I agree it's a risk, but it's really quite minimal. Having said that, this particular case is bizarre because he had a previous term with a 3.3 with 0 SH minutes.....like piratesfan said, he must have gotten a different cheerleader to do his HW this term.....

If he's a recruit that comes it with a 2.1 gpa (like tmac's guy) and you don't give him study hall that first season, I'd say it's nearly a guarantee that you will be facing a GPA issue.

During the first term, he had a 3.3 GPA with 0 SH Minutes.

In the 1st half of the second term, he dropped to a 1.9 GPA with 0 SH minutes.

In the 2nd half of the second term, he somehow just maintained a 1.9 GPA with 14 SH minutes.

How is 14 minutes not enough to increase .1 GPA...

this is your fault for paying attention to the first term. its over and has zero bearing on the second term.

When you saw that he was at 1.9 GPA, you should have given him at least 20min. But 30 would have guaranteed a passing grade... 20min would be about 90% chance of passing

I put zero into study hall for all recruits. If they have issues at mid-terms then i adjust accordingly. If he's in the 2.2-2.4 range i give him 15min. If he's in the 1.8-2.1 range i give him 20min. and if he's below 1.7 i give him 30 min.

it also depend upon the player. if its my best player and he's got a 1.9, i'm giving him 30min of study hall and making absolute sure he passes.

but i'm in the club that can count on one hand my ineligibles.
