from what i can tell most people have their power forwards and centers set on -2. i wanted to know is there ever a time when u game plan -1 or 0 for your low post players? if so, why? is it a player mismatch or an adjustment vs. a certain defense? or both?

The only time I would ever ever consider going something other than -2 with a PF/C would be if they had a minimum of 35+ Per and then only against a Zone or a mismatch M2M. I don't want some big dufus tossing up bricks from behind the arc and being out of rebounding position when he has no skill in that area.

The only time I put them at 0 is if they have 40+ per and I move them to SF or SG when they can actually shoot above 30% from 3 point range. Rest of the time I leave them at -1 or -2

I had a PF in D2 last year with high SPD/ATH... and his PER was above 50. I kept him at -1 for most of the season and he shot around 40% from 3-point. I would always have it at -1 against zone teams, others I would move it to -2 if I wanted to pound it inside.

I have had a few PF's who could shoot more than 33% from three, set to a -1. If they clear 33% shooting from three, I let 'em do it

I haven't had much luck with PF or C at anything other than -2. Even with a guy that was PER 45 and ath 55 at D-III he couldn't clearly 27% playing the 4 spot. I think it's a clear flaw in WIS as is. It does appear though from what I've seen if you play them at the 3 spot, they shoot better.

Against the 2-3 zone go with a -1 from the PF position as long as he has a 40+ PER. Depending on how high the PER rating and a few other factors he may succeed against a -2 or more negative defensive setting when facing the press and less so a man d. I have never had success in shooting three's from the C position.

I will set PF or C at -1 if there PE is 40 or better......

No. Even if their Per is a 40+, if they're putting up 1-15 type stats from 3 on the season, then they're back to a -2 except vs. a zone, then they may stay at -1.

Yeah I think that unless you have a MIN 30 Perimeter, going anything other than -2 is dumb.
