Is it just me, or are less and less descent D3 recruits available and D2 pulldowns? The last 2 seasons have been by and far the two worst recruiting cycles I have experienced over the course of the time I have been in HD.

I firmly believe this starts all the way up at D1 and filters down. I've noticed a definite decrease in recruit quality for the last several season at D1 so I can only imagine the dregs/trash available at D3.

I think it just falls on luck. On my div III team sometimes I scout some smaller states that have 2-3 guys loaded with potential. Because the states are so small not many coaches also scout them so I get them with ease. Other times I can scout 7 or more states and maybe find 1-3 guys. If nobody else jumps on them then I got a chance, but I am so low on cash flow from scouting so many states I can't win a battle.





The same thing can be said for my div II team. 2 of the guys were in small states outside of NY. These players had high potential in ath/speed/bh/def/passing/per. Put them in ny/pa/texas/cali and these guys would have went to div I, but in RI and such they slipped threw the cracks and I got them battle free.

Much less on the d3 level in wooden anyways recruiting wise i have to fill 6 spots this year which will be interesting.

I have not been around as others to talk about long ago, but I notice a huge difference in the recruits I signed 5 or 6 seasons ago in Allen in D3 and the recruits I am signing now in Crum in D3

In Allen I was a B level team getting good recruits, in Crum I have taken a team that was an A prestige when I took over and I feel like I ran them into the ground. 2 seasons in a row of recruits I was unhappy with has me at 1-3 and hating my roster. The only guys I like are stars over from the old coach who are seniors.

Then again maybe I just am terrible at D3 and should stick with D2 where I feel good about what I'm doing.
