Good vs. Bad Plays Topic

I'm not sure if there has been a topic on this. What counts as a good play or a + play on a players fielding stats. My 2B has averaged about 5 per season until last season where he had 32.

So I guess what makes up a good or + play?

Roughly equates to a hit taken away or extra base prevented due to defense. As far as I can tell the most significant factor is range. Looks like your 2B (and your pitchers) won the lottery with the fielding update.

also there was a recent change to where there were more + plays credited, to explain the change from 5 to 32
