Ive been told going from uptempo to normal or slowdown helps, but that has its other drawbacks. I will be interested in hearing other replies.

I like to look for weaknesses in the press (slow players) and exploit them. Seems to work a lot of the time.

Of course, the good press teams aren't going to have those weaknesses.

At D II how slow would you consider slow by position?

I'm no expert on the press. I've never run it myself. What I look for when I play against it is places where my players are faster than theirs.

If I were to run press at D2, I suppose I might want atleast 40 SP from my posts, at least 50 from the SF position, and probably at least 70 from my guards. These numbers might be a little conservative, so maybe someone who runs a successful press can say more.

Running and going against a press are nearly the same. You look for, like hitman said, mismatches. You want to see things like a 40 Ath, 70 Sp SF against a 40 Ath, 40 Sp SF.

Overall, you beat the press by having sufficient speed and athleticism and good passing and ball handling. That is the key.
