Hall Of Fame position Topic

I know this has been discussed but I wanted to bring it up once again.

Claude Durbin

This player is listed as a DH in the Hall Of Fame balloting. He is a 9 time All Star. He played 1418 games at 2nd base in his career and less than 10 games at any other position. In his career he never had even 1 AB at the DH position . At the peak of his career he had a 78 Range, 86 Glove, 46 Arm Strength, and 61 Accuracy.

I see no logic this player should be listed as a DH. Even if you went by RECS it seems he would at least qualify for LF or 1B.

What is the logic?

The 21 AS is what causes his rec position to be DH, I believe. The rest is an argument that he be listed at the position he played the most games, which is reasonable, but doesn't seem like something they're going to do any time soon.

When he retired, he was listed as a DH. That's what you'll see.

What do you mean 21 AS?

Thanks. Kind of a crappy way to list a player in the Hall. They should allow the commish to change positions.

.979 lifetime fielding percentage at 2B too, not bad.

They should fix it.

Yeah, I've asked(and I'm sure many others have also) but they have no intention on changing anything right now. I know I'll switch all my older players back to their "best" position when their contracts run out with me.

if they've found a way to have the engine recognize which team the player played the most seasons for, and assign the player's HOF cap to that franchise, surely they can figure out a way for it to recognize which position each player played the most games at and assign the player's listed position accordingly.

i agree with everyone else that this is a must-fix. it would make it much easier to sort through and judge a player's candidacy by position. comparable offensive numbers mean alot more to me coming from a 2B than they would coming from a DH, and im sure im not the only one who thinks that way. but i guess, like MikeT has said, it's just something we're going to have to deal with for now.
