Recruiting Investigation Topic

I got in a recruiting battle and gave a throwback jersey to a recruit. He didn't accept it, but then signed anyway. Now my school is under investigation. Seems like I'm screwed, but I was wondering if the investigations ever fail to uncover anything - does anyone have any experience with this?

Is this John Calipari?

On rare occurances, an investigation will come up empty, but I wouldn't cross my fingers.

in retrospect this was a very stupid move. I was headed towards having a good program with or without this recruit. Plus I didn't really need to give the booster gifts but got nervous cause I was out of money. Oh well, guess I am looking at a very long time until I can get to D1

Boosters re only worht it at low level d1. You can get away with them if yuo practice

Actually they work even better at the top end. You don't lose much in prestige (and can more easily make it up) and rep hits don't mean as much if you are at a destination school. Not worth in either case, but the ramifications are less for a top school.

How I would use booster is with a team you have set up with to big classes that way when on probation the loss of the bid isnt that big of deal while you keep your players. Ive only used them at a d prestige so I have no exp with anything else

Again, even more viable for a top end school in a rebuilding year. As long as you don't overdo it and lose the player. Top end schools in a rebuild can take the rep and prestige hit more than the lower, IMHO. Either way, it's a one and done thing, since a second investigation is going to be a bigger issue.

Nothing found! looks like I get away with running my dirty program for at least one more year

that WCAA sure does an in depth investigation...the coach admitted it in public and still wasn't caught. Maybe this really is John Calipari...

If it was, he'd leave, and then the NEXT coach would have to deal with the defecting recruits, NCAA sanctions, win revocations, etc.
