so if a kid was ineligible, went to some other school, played a season and then transferred and signed with us - do we get the same chance at an SR5 season as we would if he had sat for us? I think we do, but dont think I have ever done it

Yes he is eligable for that. I have had it happen for my George Fox team years ago.

this reminds me of a small feature that would enhance the game - there should be some sort of symbol next to a players name when you look at a team that shows that he was a nonqualifier and even better perhaps a second symbol that shows that he had a redshirt season

seems natural and would ease the process of looking at rosters when taking a new job AND the process of looking at recruits like these
