Best guess on a draft signing bonus Topic

I have the #1 pick, and the player I've chosen to take is "Looking to be drafted in the first round. If not, he'll probably head back to college for his senior season."

Money-wise, I've got enough prospect cash to cover all of my slot bonuses. I also have payroll cap room of nearly $6m (could get to 6 if I needed to).

I also have a nice offer to take on $3m in salary for a very good player at a cheap trade price (the other owner is in a bit of payroll prison right now).

What are your best guesses (and I realize they are only guesses) as to what a draft pick with that signability statement, who is drafted high in Round 1, will demand?

The #1 pick's slot bonus is $4M, so you won't pay less than that.

Somewhere close to $6M wouldn't be surprising, imo.

This is kind of what I was thinking, but I wanted some group opinions. That probably nixes the trade opportunity, which is why I was checking. Thanks. Any other opinions would be appreciated.

Since you're not exactly getting flooded, I'd try to hold off on the trade until I know what the demands are going to be.

Or, you could try to have your proverbial cake and eat it too by taking another player, and making said trade, assuming that the haul from that trade exceeds the drop off from the guy you want to the best "will sign for slot" dude.

Yeah. It doesn't. Poor class (at least that I can see with 18/18, plus a little buzz around the league). But I'm happy with the one guy, and that's all I really need. Looks like I'm keeping my powder dry until draft day.
