Burned one World/Correct Error new World? Topic

My first whirl at HD is a real learning experience. Thought if I rid my team of deadwood, would get some money to recruit their replacements...............HOW WRONG was I. No ships meant no recruiting money!!

Now let me get this clear for a second World! It tells me in Coach signup I have 6 Schorships..........however roster is full with only possible 6 ships the walk-ons that fill those spots. Nobody leaving otherwise.

So if I let those six guys go, do I get recruiting money for those 6 ships??

Anyone you "let go" you will not get money for. The walkons will leave on their own and you will get money for them. No walkon stays past a season unless given a scholarship.

It is a bummer to lose a guy, High Potential. HS ten miles from my campus, he wants to come here....but no money to recruit. Another Human found him too, and that was it.......had to back off him even though he was sending me emails to "remember me".

what world is this? has recruiting started? you should never start recruiting with walkons on your roster....or has recruiting just ended? or what?

FD is right...if the roster is currently full but it says you have 6 'ships available with 6 walkons....its factoring in those walkons as the 'ships you'll have to fill next year. I was just looking at some other worlds too, D3, and I saw one school that had 2 schollies open, with only 1 SR, but also had 1 walkon....you should be ok signing up with that 2nd team and you'll have to recruit 6 guys with money for those 6 guys

No.....had no Scholorships to give, and two pretty pathetic rising sophomores. I thought I could revioke the AI's recruits 'ship, and gain two freshman of my choosing!!

The error was I had less than $720 from previous season to do all recruiting with. Had to rely on phone calss, coach calls, and only one visit! Was promising starts anyhow (2-26 all AI team), so got two pretty decent guys.

Down side will be, could not scout them, or evaluate in any way but a few coach calls. I had to be real specific on my guys! The top recruit was only 10 miles away, but I was not the only human caoch who say him!! That was the bummer!!

I don't know if it's just me, but tem's comments don't make any sense to me. I don't know what he's asking. What does the title of the thread mean? He does have good taste in schools tho.

He wants to know if he'll have money to recruit the 6 walkon spots on his next perspective team and the answer is yes.

Hate email, hate texting.............and my worst offense of all is I am from WV. I think that last post might clear it up for you all.

In my case the FIRST response told me what I needed to know, so at least I got the answer.

Will try for clarity in the future................the old standard think before you speak (or email) applies here.

Thanks

The motive might be the confusing part. I have my eyes on a team in another world that I might join. That is the team composed of 6 walkons, a couple juniors, and a couple sophomores.

Using my Naismith team as my only experience, and not wanting to repeat my error again (Or worse)

Colonels19 understood too!!!

I understand now. Goodluck with that team.

good luck- I think the difference is that a SIM AI signed recruit is NOT a walkon - walkons disappear - SIM AI signed guys can be dropped ONLY during the period from when recruiting starts until signings begin - AND you get NO money for their slots until the NEXT season
