So, I'm currently in a recruiting battle and a bit confused. The last scholarship message I got from the kid was 2 days ago (3/4):

"Coach, just following up your scholarship offer. I REALLY love your program, I'm looking forward to the signing period!"

After I got that message, another school showed up on his "considering" list, but I never got another scholly message. Signings started last night (3/5) and still no message. I've been pumping in efforts (mainly CVs) every period. Every CV email I get the kid says "I can't wait to play for you!" But no scholly message.

At the 2pm cycle today (3/6) I still have no message. None of the FSS reports (last one at 3am) indicate that either school has a lead.

He's accepted all of my PT promises, which I take to mean I'm in the lead. But, what gives? Am I in the lead, or just tied? If the other coach had taken the lead, I'd know with a scholly message saying "I'm on the fence", right?

Anyone else had this situation? What can I do to make this kid SIGN??

This means the kid hasn't changed his mind about your school, and that you are still his #1.

The other school has pumped enough money in him to get considered.

You don't want any more scholly messages from him. The next one you get will say he's doubting and got a tough decision to make.

Or it will be a letter of intent.

Your efforts have kept you in the lead but you don't have a big enough lead yet. Just hang with him. If it stays close, like some battles do, he may not sign until the 8AM cycle tomorrow morning.

Yeah. If you haven't gotten a different schollie message, then the previous one still holds true.

All of the above are correct. If the battle is close enough, it could be the last day before he signs. If the last schollie message you received had you in the lead, just be patient, he'll sign eventually.

Just be aware though, that if it's taking this long, I would definitely pay attention because the other coach is still close. If he has enough money and hits him with a big chunk all in one cycle, you could quickly find yourself behind.

yep....if this is D1 you are probably ahead by something like 3-4 home visits....not a ton.
