I don't know that there is any documented numbers on it, kev, just that it exists. My guess is that it will hieghten his posititional liablities more.

The extra speed should make your press more effective, but I've never been successful at running the triangle without a low post scorer.

I think as long as his attributes are there, the real position penalty is low. And if he can rebound the only real drawback that I can think of is a low Block rating if that is the case. Other LP guys might be able to score a little easier against him if the block is low, but his likelySpeed advantage in press might be able to even that out.

There are no penalties on his attributes. If you signed a PG who had 90s in Athleticism, rebounding and low post then if you started him at center, he would play the same as a center with identical ratings.

Magic Johnson?

Incorrect. It's in the FAQ.

How did this experiment turn out? I would be interested to see how it goes over 20+ games.

I believe Doomey is correct.

I think this game would be a lot better if there weren't any penalties or if they were a lot smaller. Especially since matchups are supposed to be improved.

The best team I have ever seen at my level and in my world (Domincan / Crum / D3 - which has been on a hell of a run over the past 4 seasons) has been starting a PG at the SF position all season with not much of a penalty, if any. The PG is putting up really solid numbers, and the team itself is 14-1 again (only loss was in OT to another top team) and is on its way towards a 3rd or 4th title in the last 5 years.

I did this with my DII Holy Family team in Iba a couple seasons back. We won the conference at 14-2 in a top conference. Actually, my super SF in the 800's played at 2, 3, and 4 but my best lineup was when I put the PG at the 3, super SF at the 2, another SF at the 4, and a PG with excellent starting ratings but with a WE of 5(?) at the 1. It was a patchwork lineup but really f'd with the other teams in my conference. They didn't really know how to defend us and on top of that, they didn't know what d we were going to play since we had B IQ in all defenses. By all rights, we should not have done that well also not having a bench or any major post presence. One of my better coaching seasons (don't have too many of those).

Well, I would have to point out that the ratings disparity between a PG and SF is much less in D3 as well. Not to say there aren't studs out there at each position, but a decent D3 pg is only going to lose out on rebounding and LP, maybe blocks, to your average D3 SF and they would own them in the other cores. So in this case, even with a penalty it wouldn't be a horrible choice to make. Playing post they would have a tougher row to hoe.

I'd also say that that ratings disparity increases with division. It can be done, but I wouldn't say it is the best case scenario
