I was ****** when I got a 9 seed with a 23 rpi but this made it much better as I am the beneficiary of this upset.

Seems like this is the fourth 16 seed beating a 1 seed posted here this week. What gives?

Most likely, because there are fewer "bad" 16 seeds getting into the tournament. Having lots of SIM teams is the likely cause of this.

This. In real life 16 seeds are teams are always teams that finished outside the top 2 of their already bad conference and then went on a run to win the CT and have records like 16-14 with an RPI of 220. In HD, especially oustside of D1 16 seeds are generally top 80 teams. That recent thread shows Washington St. getting a 16 seed with a 43 RPI, that just would never happen in real life.
