Since the opinion across the board is that one of my first recruiting class is no better than a walk-on, let me ask a question.

Can you make a kid "quit" your program by breaking a starting promise, and will he leave? Do you take a hit in reputation?

If yes to the second part of that question....would the reputation hit be more or less then resending his ship at the end of the year?

kid may or may not leave - it seems to be random. He will be unhappy, and your rep will take a hit, but I do not know if the reputation effect is different from rescinding the ship...
