If the commissioner is not willing to do anything about tankers, I'd question my desire to remain in that world.

100% agreed.

Doing something about tankers can make you rather unpopular.

With who? The tankers themselves?

Sorry?

Mostly.

Not me. This ain't high school. I don't care about being popular.

Doing something about tankers will make you EXTREMLY popular!!!

I also was in Maris. Spent 15 years there. It's a shame what WIS let happen to that world. I'l never recommend WIS to any of my friends.

Why would you let anyone back into a league after they've been kicked out is INEXCUSABLE. the only reason they would want back in would be to cause havoc.

No, it actually won't. I generally don't allow anyone to join my worlds if they have a 108+ loss season on their record. People get quite annoyed when you say "No thank you. You're not qualified."

Mike what about a guy that took over a team 120 games into the season, ended up with 120 losses, then did an overhaul of the team (entire system) and took that crappy team to the playoffs?

I don't count mid-season takeovers. Without getting too detailed, tankers generally cut payroll from the previous season(s) and drop a ton of games. A guy who takes over mid-season doesn't set his budget and they usually don't take over for tankers(who have a long-term plan that requires returning) so most mid-season takeovers are easy to spot. If I can't tell, I'll ask someone I "know" who's in the world.

Some guys say "But it was my first season!" While that may be true, if you sliced payroll in half, you knew what you were doing. Most n00bs, true n00bs, want to win now. And, in their efforts to win now, they aren't going to cut payroll and lose 110.
