Bump from Draft Topic

Question that I know someone knows the answer to. If I take another job but have a player(s) drafted from my former school with I see a bump in prestige at my new school or wouldn't I only see that if I stayed at my previous position?

your former team will see a prestige bump, but I think it helps your resume as well somehow. Maybe someone else will explain that part better.

I believe to get credit, you have to stay at the school for the players entire career, 4 years or ee.

I had a couple of my recruits get drafted the season after I the school and did not get credit for them.

That is correct if you leave a school and a player is drafted after you leave you get no credit.

The school where the player played that got drafted gets credit in their prestige, regardless if you are still coaching or not.

As for your own resume, if you recruit a player and coach him in his final season at the school (you can leave for another school after the season) then you will get credit for the player as well, which gives you a boost to your resume for job hiring as well as recruiting.

Thanks Z, that helps clarify.

Z, or anyone else...How much of a bump do you get?

If a player gets drafted is it worth a B- from a C+? How about a A to an A+...is there a diff?

If a player and an early enrty go is it worth 1/3 of a rep letter?

Is an early entry worth more than a senior?

Not trying to steal a thread, just some relevant thoughts I have wondered about.

There is no direct correlation to picks and bumps. Everything behind the scenes is decimal numbers. So if the value of your draft pick (or picks) is enough to put you over a break point you will see a bump, otherwise not.

The value of a draftee depends entirely on where he is drafted. A lottery pick is worth much more than a low second round pick. How much more, I don't know. There is no difference between a Sr and an EE.

Weena is right on there, although if you have 2 players drafted (1 in teh lottery) and aren't at the low end of a grade level you will usually see a bump.
