Followup: I had a feeling this was going to be the answer. My returning Catcher was the 51 Dur guy (
Scott Coles). So I passed on the 40 Dur guy, and instead acquired a youngster with 52 Dur,
Macbeth Morris (trade pending). Note that this will not be a traditional platoon. Both guys have everyday bats, and although there is some platoon advantage to playing Coles (R) vsL and Morris (S) primarily vsR, I intend to get both guys about 50% of the playing time.
I have heard that players will recover a greater amount of fatigue per day when rested on consecutive days than when rested for only one day. Is this true? If so, there might be a fatigue advantage to switching off 10-game runs in the lineup, with each going on rest when not in the lineup.
