Recruit with knowledge in all Ds Topic

So I made this thread because I was getting a contradicting evaluation: http://whatifsports.com/forums/threads.asp?ForumID=30&TopicID=409609&PagePosition=2

CS insisted there was nothing wrong with the response and sometimes recruits have knowledge outside of what their team plays. I thought this was definitely wrong and the evaluation either meant to say his knowledge in Zone was really good or it meant to say his team played HCP/M2M instead of zone. What it turns out is he in fact had knowledge in all 3 defense when he showed up to campus. I didn't end up signing this recruit but I checked to see if CS was right and it turned out they were. The player is a JUCO transfer, with 3 years remaining and has C+ knowledge in M2M, B in Zone and C in press. Here is the link to his team page, his name is Glen Miller http://whatifsports.com/hd/TeamProfile/IQ.aspx?tid=12265.

Could it be since this is a JUCO player his high school played M2M and then he went to JUCO where they played HCP/Zone so he has knowledge in all 3? Has anybody ever seen this with a high school recruit? So if it's possible with defenses could it be possible with offense? Does it also mean JUCOs and high schools play specific Os and Ds, and it's not just randomly tied to the player?

Or it could be that some coaches put practice into all IQ areas. Honestly you can put aside about 60-80 mins for IQ practice with no problem and still max out your players a lot of times by their senior year.

So in other words 20 in Press 20 in Zone and 25 in M2M plus 15 mins into his offense

You didn't read what my wrote. He showed up with IQs in all 3. He's a juco transfer, the season hasn't even had 1 practice.

It's pretty common to see a Juco with decent IQ's in multiple sets.

The set he played at the Juco often will end up in the B range. The lower grade is generally what set(s) he played in high school.

I know at one time that each High School and each Juco played specific sets. There was a thread a few years back that actually tried to list the sets every high school played. Back then all players had a C- if they knew the set, and an F if they didn't.
