Recruiting Ineligibles - more cash? Topic

never have gotten a real answer on this - if you're recruiting a non-qualifier, are there factors that play into whether he'll report or go juco? if you pour more dough into recruiting him is he more likely to actually come to campus or is it just luck?

I've heard that the more money you pour into him, the better chance he will show up. I have recruited 3 ineligibles - 2 showed up. I spent a good amount of $$ on the two, the one that did not I spent very little on.

If you spend more money it might help the recruit come, it might not. I wouldn't pour extra money into a kid because I have never seen it have much of an effect at all.

Cue someone coming in with a ticket from CS saying that it could help and trying to 'prove me wrong' - while all they are doing is reading too far into what CS said.

I have seen guys spend way over 50K on an ineligible and he still doesn't show up. And I personally have spent like 1K on one and he did show up. I think the higher prestige the team is, the more money you spend and minutes and promises could help, but ultimately if the guy decides to go JUCO nothing will change his mind, one of those partially random aspects of the game I think.
