work ethic and rebounding... Topic

Work ethic HAS to have an effect on rebounding right? I always thought work ethic ONLY factored in to a player's improvement, but check out these 2 players:

When you look at their core rebounding ratings, its obvious who should be a better rebounder. It just seems like my PG is overachieving and his ratings are not that good. But he is averaging 3 rebs and 3 ast per game for his career as a backup.

Has anyone rec'd confirmation from admin that work ethic does nOT play into a player's performance?

This is one of those situations where I would love to see high school stats to see if there is any truth that those stats actually having some impact.

It was in a dev chat a while back that WE just does NOT affect in-game performance.

The PG has a very good reb rating for D3 PGs. That's what I'd attribute it to, but if you really wanted to make a comparison to see if WE had an effect (I don't think it does, as I have read the same dev chat as cornfused) would be to find to guys who at least play the same position.

It is not hard to get a good rebounding guard - or at least before potential it wasn't. I often had my PG lead my team in rebounds, or be top 3rd at 5+ per game. A guard with 40+ reb and solid ath/speed in the lower levels will grab 3+ rebounds a game. Like someone mentioned, compare it position to position because him getting 3 boards a game isn't that shocking.

At dIII, an even decent rebound rating for a guard combined with speed and or athleticism can get you those rebound numbers.
