Upper d1 defenses... Topic

I understand how each defense works, so just looking for a little clarification from some vets. To be successful, ie. multiple d1 nt wins, in a mtm defense, each player who gets high minutes should be at least in the 80s.

How does this work for zone and press defenses? I figure in zone I can recruit a stud with only average d if the rest of my team is stellar. Is this correct? How about in a press? Is speed more important than d? Just looking for a few opinions.

nb, if you're really looking at high DI and teams that are winning multiple DI NT games, I think that you'll find that their core players are going to be 80+ def with good sp and/or ath (depending on position) regardless of defense. The attributes may be slightly less or more important in a certain D, but at that level, you're not going to see many guys lagging in key areas.
