On how INCOMING FRESHMAN are considering HUMAN COACHES before the 1st recruiting cycle. I've seen this on at least a couple of occassions in Crum this world.

This happened to me once. I had a FR center considering me and 3? other coaches at the start of recruiting when I was at Alfred. I never got the answer to why it happened, and I was easily kicked off him.

FWIW we were all located in/around NY.

Yeah, I was about to click off the player and then realized he was going to be a freshman. I know I have heard non-freshman considering human coached schools before for reasons I can't remember but this was a newly generated player. I was / am baffled.

For non-freshmen recruiting effort carries over, so that's why some show up as considering a human school on cycle one-- that school pumped a good bit of money into him the year before.

It couldn't have been a redshirt freshman who was cut by a team and thus was really a transfer? (Just fishing for ideas)

That is what I was thinking as well. Maybe check his statistics tab and see if he was R/S last season. If he was, then maybe the other school he's now considering had some money into him last recruiting season but the kid signed elsewhere and then didn't like being R/S, so he's transferring and is automatically considering his second choice.
