I just had something in Crum recruiting I had never seen before, so I wanted to just see if others had seen it or if I just missed something.

I targeted a SG as my #1 recruit I needed (I'm D2 and he was on D1 by the way). I worked hard to pull him down b/c I had a pretty good budget due to 4 scholarships and some conference tourney success. Without giving away amounts of money or effort since recruiting isn't over, I spent ALOT more than planned, but never got him to consider me and kept getting results that made me think I was a backup. I offered him a scholarship hoping that might help but no go so eventually I gave up because I couldn't blow my entire budget.

When signings happened he sent me a message about how if he had to sign right now he would which I thought was odd since he never considered me or sent me a message about being interested. Just in case I sent him a home visit and then he signed without ever being on my list.

I know this is probably uninteresting, but I was intrigued by it and also excited since I wanted him so much and thought I had just blown a lot of money on a guy that wouldn't fall. I thought this never happens, or did I read into things wrong?

any chance you only checked his list within a couple minutes of the cycle rolling over? meaning, if he signed at 11pm, did you check his list between 8:05 and 10:57? sometimes weird stuff shows up on the dividing lines that makes no sense, thats all i can think of to explain your situation, if you are sure you checked his list i would send a ticket, as that situation is supposed to be impossible. you can wait until after recruiting if you are afraid they will take the player away to "fix" the problem, but i would be very surprised if that happened...

Thing is I hadn't done any activity for him over the last few cycles so wouldn't he have to send me an email that he was interested? Would he just pop up on a considering me list after a cycle in which I didn't do anything?

I wonder if he was actually considering me earlier and it never showed up due to a glitch or something. If that is the case I sure blew some un-needed money.

Same thing happened to me MJ with the SF I recruited this year at Shephard. I kept hearing all the right answers, but never showed up on his "Considering List" until right at the end. My only guess is that my guy and your guy slipped through the cracks and no one else ever looked at them. Than because we were the only ones who spent any time with them, when recruiting started and no one still had talked with them, all of a sudden "it was a dream to play for us" and if they could, they would sign right now. I had all 4 guys say that to me this year.
