I prefer to see as many players as possible, so I would never set one of the numbers to zero.

I usually put 20M in one and 0 in the other. For me the question is the trade off. My theory is I'll either get the same guys I would have anyway or maybe 2-3 slots below that. Moving 10M to IFA's or 20M to FA's seems like pretty good deal to me.

Of course, if two many owners in a league do that then the balance changes.

Ditto. I'd rather see dead-on accurate projections for half the pool than to see mediocre projections for 3/4 of the pool by putting, say, $12 million on both sides. Plus putting $20m on one and $0 on the other saves money since if you want to look at both college and HS it would cost at least $28 million to see even passable projections.

If I'm expecting to have compensation picks, I'll spread it out evenly dealing with the less accurate projections over a larger field of prospects. If I'm only looking at 3 picks in the top 100 I'll load up one way or the other to make sure I get the goods with my picks.

For me a lot depends on how soon I need the players to be ML ready. HS is usually 18-19 and will take longer. The 20-22 yr old college guys will hit the ML quicker.

What is everyone's thought on elite players?

At the end of the day do you think more come out of HS or College...all things being equal that is (training, coaching, playing time etc)

i generally go 20 on one and zero on the other...but that is me...
