best park for all D range Topic

Does it matter if it is a hitters park or pitchers park if my plan is to draft a team with all D range fielders?

I am trying to decide if the (-) parks like Safeco would cut down on the chances for a player to make a play, thus lessoning the likelihood that leadfoot bungles the play.

Sorry Newby question

I think conventional wisdom is that a pitcher's park would favor low range, but I'm not sure that it matters that much. I'd just look for a pitcher's park that compliments your hitters.

Honestly if you can find the pitching for it, I'd go with Yankee III. I wouldn't be AS concerned about my infielders as I would about my outfielders giving up extra bases. And HRs don't have anything to do with range so if you can prevent them with your pitchers that's another plus for you.

Otherwise, maybe Oakland or OPACY or just go with Safeco/Petco.

I dont think it makes much difference. a pitchers park would yield fewer minus plays because you'll have fewer PA, but in a low scoring game each play has more significance so it all balances out. The only thing that makes an obvious difference is +HR, fielding doesnt matter when a ball is hit out of the park.

I am a newbie too, but in 2 exhibition seasons and 7 games in a 140m league, I noticed that the best teams, based on winnng pct., usually have poor defense at several positions. Understand, that this is a small sample size, exh leagues don't play like real leagues (or so they say) and there also are good teams with good D. The winning, bad D teams are, as has been suggested, in +HR parks every time. They also feature dead ball era pitchers, as has also been suggested here. When I say poor D, however, I am not talking about an entire team of only D rated fielders. I have not witnessed anything like that in my limited play. I would offer that what I thought I knew about baseball usually doesn't apply here. Newbies like us have to learn to see this as a game, not as baseball, per se. You may have struck on a winning strategy. I notice also that within every letter grade is a variance in RRF. Taking players on the high side of that RRF number may, indeed, be the strategy du jour.

IN my years of WIS ive noticed that defense doesnt outweigh offense. I would much rather go with a C/C guy with higher avg/obp/slg than someone with A+/A+ with significantly lower stats. In my opinion, I think defense is overpriced. The extra avg/slg is going to bring in more runs than the errors give up..

Sim needs to add more value to fielding during games, or restructure the salary method..

I don't even look at fielding anymore when I draft except for catcher.

Draft a team that can hit and decent to good pitching and you will do pretty good.
