Sorry, think this needs a new thread to keep the idea separate from the other important feedback.
I believe we have an "in between" scenario where, in my opinion, the needs of WIFS, nor the new player, nor the veteran are being completely met.
The noob is provided the same game as the experienced user, and expected to handle the game as such. AI is insufficient to help out this user. Thus, open leagues are a mess, and provide a poor training ground.
The veteran looking for a challenge is, with a few exceptions (MG, NABCL, and a couple of others) wanting for a well run league with clear, well thought out guidelines on how to run a team in a league (ie. how many private leagues are "need 2...here's the password!!!)
Thus, in my opinion, you need at the very least two things to make this game lock down better
- Make it easier for the noob to play in a quality open league. This can either be done through AI ("Nope, sorry, too many <100% fatigue, AI is promoting/signing new FAs) or through volunteer commish(es) ("dude, before you accept that trade, these are the consequences). Fair play guidelines should be a last resort. The noob should be hand held before it gets to that point.
- Make it clearer, or force the Private League commish to be clear in setting out guildelines of fair play for that league. This can include any or all of;
- Clear Private league rules are mandatory prior to the start of a Private league, else it's public.
- The rules are posted and easily accessable, either by
- Standard pre made rules provided by WIFS that the commish selects upon creating the league
- Customized rules created by the commish that are available WITHIN the league itself (ie. same as accessing the GM office or Managers office - a tab that contains the Private league rules)
- A vote capacity in those rare instances when a league needs to eject an owner. WIFS has override capability, but only if the Private League rules are not being broken
- The ability to offer a penalty less strict than ejection (ie. fine that comes off the team's cap)
The aim here is twofold; get the new user in with a good experience, where he/she learns the game and becomes a valuable experienced owner.
Remove as best as possible the conflict that occurs when an owner, in his mind, thinks he/she has not broken a rule and the league thinks he/she has.
