PF versus C/ PG vs SG Topic

What is the main difference between the two positions? I am trying to figure out my depth chart and I'm not sure if some of my guys would be better at PF or C based on their stats if it really makes a difference at all.

What about PG compared to SG? Should PGs be higher in certain categories than SGs?

I'll figure this all out one of these seasons... haha.

The G position is easy to figure out. The pg you are going to want speed with good bh and passing. At sg the speed helps too but also the athleticism if you want him to be a good scorer. The perimeter and the bh will be huge for him. As for the post postions I think you can basically interchange the two although I would say that I have seen PFs with a little better perimeter game. Hope that helps some.

The main differance is passing and ball handling. Your prototypical PF will have a little better BH and lower passing and some outside shot, think Karl Malone working the post. Most C's will have bad BH and decent passing, catch and shoot or pass it in and out of the paint.

SG and PG. SG's will generally have better PE, with slight less passing than PG's, but honestly a good SG can play the 1 as can a good PG play the 2. Your PG is generally going to be the fastest guy with the best BH and PA, or the best option combining those three.

I personally think BH is a bit overrated when it comes to a PG. Yes it's important but passing is much more important IMO. BH is more important for a SG than it is for a PG. PF you want better speed, per and bh then you do at center.
