Has anyone ever recruited a guy from the high school they graduated from, just for ***** and giggles?

I think that I'm gonna do it so I can have a personal "Rudy" type player.

I haven't seen one per se...I haven't really looked, but when I took over my current team, a C on my team went to the HS that my mom attended and that we played for homecoming my senior year...I guess that was a bit interesting.

I haven't, I might look into it if there's a DI one who'll talk to me there. Although if it's anything like my RL HS, the odds of a DI recruit being there are slim.

There used to be a DIII coach who'd recruit every player he'd see from his high school. It didn't matter if they were walk-on quality; he couldn't resist them

I almost recruited a kid from my hometown's community college once, if that counts. Turns out he went to Harvard; I couldn't stop laughing considering how bad the school is in real life.

I've seen kids from my HS and I think I got one, once. I've also gotten a kid from the local CC I attended. And this season I recruited a kid with my name. A trifecta!

I signed a guy from my high schools rival school. He went on to be that schools career leader in assists.

I always check for guy from my HS. I finally found one this year and he's a decent SF. Also, two years ago I attempted to recruit a guy who had the name of the most legendary coach in our school's history.

I've recruited a couple down in DIII. Thought it would be fun and they'd make good bench filler. Both turned into fairly productive players by the time they graduated.

I once recruited a player from another coach's HS and that coach recruited a player from my HS. We had a good time joking about it for 4 seasons. The recruit I got did very well for me but the player from my HS on the other team won NPOY his senior year.
