I offered a recruit minutes and a start early and he declined them. Now that he is "considering me among others" and the signing period is about to begin will it help me to offer them again?

Did you offer it to him when he wasn't considering you? For me, it tends to help to wait to offer those type of promises whenthe recruit is considering you.

If he accepts it of course you'd get the value for them. They are not worth as much as they were before, but its pretty much equal to a home visit. If he signs with you he probably would have signed without them, unless it was an ultra-close battle. Doesn't hurt to get the free value if you know you can live up to the promise.

If you are going to live up to the promises, then yes, it will help you. A lot of time guys reject promises if they are not already considering you.

If it's really as much value as a home visit then it's a huge money saver if you can really live up to it.

I did offer it to him when he wasn't considering me because he was considering someone else who I knew couldn't offer him a start.

The other guys has a higher prestige then me but he's got 8 guys considering him and only 5 open slots so I'm hoping he's stretched to thin and that I have put more money into the guy. Plus he has 2 positions that he must fill and this guy is not one of those, he has 3 other guys at this position.
I haven't gone head-to-head with someone in a while so I'm hoping I can pull this off.

Not really, unless you run press 8 times out of 10 you will have a better option who you would want to play more minutes. Calls, letter, coach calls will give you more bang for your buck with less risk, but if you were going to need to play him due to depth anyways then the free effort is worth it. And yes, once they are considering you they will accept them. Only promised minutes gets rejected when they are undecided, but promised starts get accepted. They remain undecided though because its not worth enough value.
