3 point shooting Topic

With my Metropolitan State team in Allen, should I be able to shoot more 3 pointers with the team's low perimiter ratings? I've been kind of shaky with it and sticking with the points in transition.

If it were me I'd let Smith and Zapatas start chucking away (within reason). You're already making about 40% of your 3's, but your 3PA is, what, 3% of your total FGA?

If nothing else, opposing coaches will know that they never have to defend the perimeter against your team. Your next opponents' starting SG is a dud on defense - maybe match up Zapatas against him (looks like you'll need his defense on Freund anyway).

Disclaimer: I don't even have a full season under my belt, so it's probably best to ignore me. Good luck, I'll be watching and learning.

You have to play to the strengths and weakneses of your team, and you realy don't have any capable 3pt shooters.

I think you could open it up a little more with Smith. The bigger issue is that I don't understand at all why you're leaning so heavily on Zapatas, he's not that good. Wardell has been much more efficient, I'd bump up his distro a bit and some of the other guards. Even if you're not launching 3p's with them, they will take jump shots and thus will be able to penalize a severely sagging defense more.
