If I redshirt a freshman at D1 and he gets ******, meaning his we drops like crazy, will he transfer?

Can't guarantee it, but I wouldn't keep the redshirt on if I were you.

You're probably fine leaving it on Bennett, southern (25 to 11 drop,) though.

I think players transfer based on expected playing time. I've never seen a player transfer because he was redshirted. He may not improve much ever, but it's a different issue than transferring.

I never leave a redshirt on if it's not accepted. Just not worth it unless the guy had very high WE and the drop leaves him at 40+ or so.

So if you really want a senior available for NEXT year, and he is through improving. . . .has anyone ever redshirted a SENIOR to get one more year out of him?

I mean, if he is through improving then even if his WE takes a hit, he should be alright, if he isn't going to transfer? Just the same but with better IQ's?

He would likely drop to 1 WE, so his ratings would drop faster, and expect losses in the off season. It wouldn't be a killer though. I've redshirted a SR before, and he didn't transfer.
