How has the change to an "in house" RNG changed/affected how the game operates, if at all? (colonels19 - Hall of Famer - 2:48 PM)

You won't see any difference.

How could I not ask that question...even if it is just a jab now. I'm surprised he addressed both things I posted....well in his way...that chat went on for 2 hours but not much was said.

I'm not really sure how much more direct he could have been with that answer. Whether it's true is a different question, but it was a straightforward answer.

PLenty was said, COlonels. Useful things.

Its an oddly worded answer...yes he answered the question.

He was rather vague about a ton of stuff and was beating around the bush about other stuff, namely position penalties and what would happen if I played my player OOP. He also suggested that "Bing ball" wasn't an issue and that he didn't think that this release was "boom or bust"...I don't think he gets the big picture clue.

I guess I'm confused why the use of the word "see" makes a difference. If we don't "see" a difference, I assume there isn't a difference, or at least it doesn't matter what the difference is, right?

That answer can be interpreted many different ways. We won't see a difference isn't the same as, it will be no different, or there is no difference. His statement leaves it open to some leeway and just because we won't see the difference, doesn't mean that there won't be a difference.

I understand that you're using his literal wording, but what are the negative (or any) implications if there is a difference but we can't see it? Seems that the reality is there will be no change or the change will be negligible, at most.

Well we'll see how the game bears out...just given my history arguing about the RNG and what have you, it would have been a travesty for me to have not asked that question...I give the people what they want.

Certainly...well, certainly to everything except the last sentence :)

I just think the answer was intended to convey that there isn't going to be any noticeable difference, which all we should care about.

Actually it was a perfect answer to a bad question. We don't currently see how the game operates, we see the end result. We don't get to see how the engine decides shot, foul, turnover, make or miss.
