Although most of the time you put your better defender in RF, but are most balls hit toward the LF direction. Where would you put your better defender? Thanks for the help!

I've been putting the better defender in LF, or at least the guy with better range, and I'm finding some value defensively. The RF assists just don't seem to balance the increased chances in LF.

I agree. If glove and range are the comparable, then I'll put the better arm in right. But if one guy is 60/55/50/50 and the other is 65/70/70/70, I'm putting the better defender in .

LF, assists in RF don't come close to making up for the difference in chances...

RF's need to have a cannon.

Just look at the Big League Averages page to determine this. LF requires a better glove. RF requires more range, a better arm, and better accuracy.

Some of you guys are missing the point of the question. He is wondering if the better defender should be in LF because more balls get hit there. I usually try to build my team with guys who have at least average ratings at their respected position but if I have to have one spot with a below average defender it would be RF. Just not enough assists to make up for the extra balls hit the LF.

I don't think anyone missed that point timf.... I think you missed their points lol.

The requirements may say that RF requires more range, but there are more balls hit to LF, so that doesn't make much sense.

The LF should have a better glove due to seeing more opportunities, but does not necessarily need better range. This is how the fielding rec's are set and to be honest it does make some sense to me. Often times (not always) the LF has to cover less ground than the RF. The CF is usually going to be shaded straight away or slightly to the LF side of the bag (again not always but often). In most parks the RF does cover a bit more ground than the LF thus the higher range req't.
