at least at this point they are over ranked.

Texas D1 Knight

SOS: 319
RPI: 178
Record: 8-2
Ranked #13

I know they might be the 13th best team in the country but where is the cold hard computer calculation in this ranking. If people are going to complain about themselves not being ranked or what not, here is a case where right now this team should be ranked lower.

Only 1 team has a record over .500 and they lost to them by 16

3 teams are 0-10 after the non-conference
1 team is 1-9
2 teams are 2-8

Also, take a look at Colorado with a 10-0 start against a 310 SOS and ranked #9 as well. Personally I think by the time Conferences games roll around if your not towards at least the top half in SOS you need to start getting penalized for the ease of your schedule.

This wouldn't happen in real life, so why should it here? You get penalized in the RPI. But if you being with a certain ranking how can you get dropped without losing?

Yeah, they are winning. Why get dropped if you are 8-2 regardless of who you play? They are coming off a NT title game loss and returning half there team. Hard to not start the season ranked as one of the better teams. They are 8-2, which means they are doing just fine. The ranking is fine. You are looking into the RPI/Ranking to much.

What about losing 2 of the last three games, one of which is to a sub .500 team and also having the only win over that time coming against a 0-10 team? That doesn't show that they should be below #13? I have seen teams lose 1 game and go down 13 places, let alone 2 in a row followed by a weak win against a 0-10 team.

Oh well, I am not outraged over this or anything. I just thought I would bring up the over ranked teams in my mind as a offset to the people always saying they are under ranked.
