Distro against the press Topic

This has always confused me. Shouldn't teams have to set a half court defense so we know what to face once the press is broken? If I have a few good big men I hesitate to set my distro high for them when facing a press team in fear that they will handle the ball in the open court if I do so. Yet, if the press is broken, I want to set them up for some good looks. Does distro only deal with shots or should I be concerned with higher distro for BIGS when facing a press?

The press becomes a trapping defense once you get past half court. The distro only affects players in the halfcourt, so don't hesitate to give post players that you think are deserving.

Distro deals with attempted shots, so it'll include turnovers and fouls too.

The press is actually fairly easy to gameplan against. Just load up distro on your best players and have no fear of double teams.

i have seen loading up on 1 solid ball handler can make a press less dominating......

I run a motion offense. Played 2 better teams that pressed. Both close to each other. First game I distro pretty evenly to guards and post. Got beat by 25. Never in game. 2nd game I distro 50 to PG 40 to SG and 10 SG(at SF spot) and got beat by 7. Was in game the whole way and if hit shots at end would of won.

I am gonna try it again and see.
