First time HD player here and recruiting just started. Are the budget solely used to scout players out or do you have to actually pay them a sum? I thought u have to pay them but offering scholarship only costs $100.

You have to recruit them. Typically a campus visit with a scholarship or 2 home visits with a scholarship is what it takes to sign them. You really need to read Player's Guide.

No, the "Cost" of the scholarship doesn't come out of your budget. Offering a scholarship costs $100, period.

tianyi, you need to use recruiting efforts such as scouting trips, home visits and scouting visits to get them to consider your school. All of these cost money -- the amount varies based on which one you are doing and how far you are from the recruit.

Great thanks. I started with only 19k for 9 scholarships, and now sitting at 7.5k, so I was worried about having to pay for scholarships. Since I don't, I can start going for the players that are still on the fence.

So at $100 each, you need to save (at least) $900 to pay for scholarship offers.

I like to have $$$$ for at least 2 or 3 more offers available, if possible.

tianyi don't forget that you can only sign 6 freshmen, the rest of your players will need to be transfer players or walk ons

and it is no problem to have one walkon and only a tiny issue to have two walkons - MUCH better to have a walkon than sign a kid who cant play to a four year schollie
