Draftee Signability Topic

I was surprised when I drafted a guy listed as "Probably won't sign, he's determined to finish out his college career" with an "agressive" setting. Aren't the "probably won't sign" guys the least likely to sign, or is it the "undesided" guys? Common sense to me would be that the probably won't sign guys are less likely to sign than undesided, but if that is the case, shouldn't they only be taken with a "very agressive" setting?

I'm not trying to be a dick, but I would recommend reading the explanation:

"The signability issues can be broken down into 3 groups: signable, questionable and doubtful. A "Very Conservative" approach will draft only players that are openly signable. A "Conservative" approach will allow up to 1 questionable selection. A "Balanced" approach will allow up to 1 doubtful selection and up to 2 questionable selections. An "Aggressive" approach will allow up to 2 doubtful selections and unlimited questionable selections. A "very aggressive" approach will not impose any limits."

So, that's pretty much explanatory. Anything "balanced" or above for the 1st round can result in a "probably won't sign" guy being selected.

I've read that...and it has never made sense to me. There are 5 different kinds of signability, and I always thought they were drafed as such:

slot $$$ (very conservative)

looking to be drafted in the...round (conservative)

may sign if deal is right (balanced)

undesided (agressive)

probably won't sign (very agressive)

if "probably won't sign" won't only be drafted by a very agressive setting...what will? I am not complaining that I drafted this guy, I was just surprised he was taken with an "agressive" setting.

Not how I read it, although it's not totally clear. I read it just as it says there, and interpret "doubtful" as meaning "probably won't sign," and "questionable" as any message other than "looking to sign" or "probably won't sign." So "aggressive" for a block of 5 rounds would allow up to 2 "probably won't sign" and the other three could be of any other signability than "probably won't sign."

fwiw, I just go "Very Aggressive" all the time and simply rank the "probably won't sign" guys very carefully.

that's my problem...I've always viewed those settings as round by round, didn't realize that it was grouping the picks together...thanks
