I just had a guy accept a home visit, but he's still not considering me. Has this happened to anyone? Does it mean he's close to considering? FYI, he's a pulldown.

time to dump money into the effort

yes it means someelse is on him also.

1 HV doesn't guarantee he'll start considering you, I've never had a recruit consider me without doing at least 2 HVs.

Did you offer a scholarship?

Did you offer a scholarship?
-Yes

-Really? Once I get a HV the guy always considering me, well, except this time.

yes it means someelse is on him also.
-I guess I'll keep that mind. Probably a d2 team I can't compete with.

there is no assurance that one HV will get a guy to consider you - at DI level may take lots of visits - my DIII experience is long ago, but Im sure no assurance there either

on the other hand, it is absolutely possible to sign guys without a home visit - go back in the forums a bit - folks have signed guys for sure for a phone call, a promise of minutes and a schollie - $120.....probably some guys signed for 110, without the promise - but that requires strong prestige relative to the player

think about real life recruiting, does a home visit mean the kid is considering the school seriously?

It's all good because I sent him another and he's considering now.

The bottom line is that he is probably a higher grade recruit and it took more than just one HV to get him on the hook. Yes, as mamxet said, you can get recruits for less, and I'm sure you probably have, but the higher the recruit, the more it will take to get them to consider.

Don't know which one of your recruits he is, but I hope he's the Steven or Cerreno.

Why Steven or Cerreno?

because a HV is counterproductive for the other two at their distances.

Is a CV more productive at that distance? Why?

Conventional wisdom has it that a CV is worth between 2 and 2.5 HV. HD is about money and worth, so at the point where 2 HV costs more than around a CV, then you switch to get the most value.
